Seven Months

Maite is now seven months old and is constantly wearing a smile. She has been crawling for about a month now, and starting to pull herself up on to the couch and other furniture. She is still not sleeping through the night but lets us sleep for five or six hours before she wakes up. We have got a hold on the eczema. I just started using an Arbonne serum after just recently switching from AD ointment which worked wonders. The ointment just doesn't smell very good. It really kept the moisture in her skin though.
She had her first xmas with NV grandparents and enjoyed every minute of it. Today her and Andrew went to the NDOW relocation of the big horn sheep in Kings River. She was dressed in her new pink camo Columbia snowsuit that she got from the gparents. We are just waiting for school to be over so we can go see more family and friends in WA.

See my teeth!

Maite's teeth are coming up so fast. Her bouncy chair is now her personal jungle gym. Since she doesn't like to lay down anymore she sits up and turns around in it. Then she wiggles her way down to the floor. What a monkey. She still isn't crawling forward but she does crawl backwards. She can also spin her body around...all without crawling forward. Talent? I guess so. We weighed her today at Uncle Seba and Aunt Miss's house. The champ weighed in at 17 pounds even. What little person she is turning into.

Teeth

Today we noticed that Maite has two teeth poking up through her gums on the bottom. I think it happened so fast. She is doing really well. She has noticed that instead of trying to crawl everywhere she can just roll. We had a great time playing with the pumpkins for Halloween and dressing her up in Cousin Ari's cow outfit. We are planning on going to turkey bingo next weekend to win another turkey for Thanksgiving like we did last year.

Changing so much!

She is changing so much. She loves to look at herself in the mirror and just laugh. She loves to be sang to. She loves to hear her papa's voice. She loves to go outside with papa. She doesn't love things on her head. She loves to eat. She loves to stand up like a big girl. She loves to talk and giggle. She loves to listen to music. She is loved!!!

Fishy Kisses

Growin'

Boy how time flies. School has started, mom is back to work, and papa has a new full time job taking care of his lil' girl. Things are going really good. I miss being home and wish I didn't have to work. She is changing so much and ready to roll over. She really likes swinging her legs from side to side. We are constantly trying to keep up with how much she eats. Everyday it seems like it is changing. Papa helped her find her piggies and now she won't leave them alone. She is trying to put them in her mouth all the time. We have another wedding this weekend and Maite gets to see her name sake again. We are so excited to see all the extended family.
Maite is just over 25 inches long and I haven't weighed her for awhile but I think she is about 13 pounds now.

13 weeks

Maite is now 13 weeks and eatting a lot. We started her on some cereal to try and keep her a bit more satified. We put some in her bottle and try and feed her with the spoon every once in awhile. She is laughing and smiling and talking more and more each day. Sitting up is becoming easier for her and she would much rather be sitting then be held. She still loves her swing. She's sleeping for five hours at a time, which we very much appreciate, but she doesn't nap much at all through the day. She makes us laugh all the time...what a joy.

Maite is growing like crazy. She is now eatting 6 ounces and is sleeping from 9 to 3 then again till 7 in the morning. I love the feeling of getting up in the morning and not needing a nap from being up all night. She never fusses at night when I put her back down. She is taking naps during the day and does not like to go down. There is a bit of crying but soon she falls asleep. I cannot believe how happy she is. It makes everyday so wonderful to look at her and she recognizes our faces and smiles. It is a true love that cannot be described. We are so lucky.
Andrew is still harvesting 3rd cutting and should be done in about 4 - 5 days. We have had a lot of fires here in NV and a storm the other night brought back worries of last years fire. I don't want to go through that again. When the thunder and lightning starts I get up from bed and start thinking of what I am going to grab when the fire starts. On the 26th it will be one year since the fire last year. Andrew says I am crazy for worrying but I can't help it, I love my STUFF! I get to go work in my classroom next Wednesday, since the janitors will be out and it will be clean. I am going to try to get everything done before the reunion. :)

8 weeks

We traveled to Reno to go to the doctor for Maite's shots. Her regular doctor had a little boy the day before our appt. so we saw a different Ped. She is 23.5 inches long and weighs 10 pounds. The doctor said that she is petite. She cried for about 5 minutes after her shots and didn't get a fever. The nurse was really good and very quick. Thank goodness.

July 4

Maite and I spent a week in Moses Lake. We got to see lots of friends and family. It was her first trip to WA and she slept almost all the way. Yeah! Dad missed us very much and couldn't wait for us to get home. While in ML she decided to start eatting more and sleep in a crib. So, when we came home I started putting her in her room in her crib instead of the cradle in our room. She is doing great and napping well also.

Sleeping

Last night was a miracle. Maite went down to sleep after eating at 10:30 and Mom freaked out at 2:30 when she made a little noise. She slept all the way to 2:30 I thought. Well, she didn't even get up then, she went back to sleep after some rustling around and slept all the way to 5:00. Holy cow! Is she still alive is what I asked Andrew. Amazing! I felt so good this moring when I actually got some lengthly time sleeping. I hope that this isn't a freakish deal. We will see what happens tonight.

Happy Father's Day!

Andrew got a new baby from his new baby. Maite and I bought him a new Savage 17. He was really surprised and very happy. Maite slept through most of the day but Andrew got to spend time with her in the evening. It was a good day for a bbq and horseshoes

First camping and fishing trip

We got to go fishing and camping for a day and night. We headed to the middle of no where with the camper and some poles. I caught one fish and Andrew got four. Maite just hung out and she did really well in the camper. It was a really hot day but we had a great time. I can't wait to have many more.

One month old

Maite is one month today. She is still eating like a horse. She is doing better about keeping it down now. We are doing baths in the tub and she loves it. She is sleeping pretty good through the night and we are looking forward to going on our first camping trip together this weekend for father's day.

We had the Basque Festival last weekend here in Winnemucca. Maite got to meet Maite. This is who Maite is named after. They got to know each other pretty well. Lil' Maite spit up all over Big Maite and I guess that makes them friends now. Haha!

Three weeks old

Maite is three weeks old today. Yesterday we had her dr. appt. and she is 8lbs. 4 oz. That means that she gained 13 oz. in 16 days. Needles to say...she is eatting well. She has started to spit up a lot and we think that we are over feeding her. We are trying a different routine. She has started to smile a lot when you sing to her and make funny noises. She slept for five hours straight last night and that scard mom a bit when I didn't hear her for a really long time. Papa sleeps through almost everything until I get up and then he hears her. We are learning a lot.

Growing like crazy!

We had a big weekend again with visitors. Derek, Jessica, Miguel, and Kacey came to visit us. We had a lot of fun and it was good to see our friends again. The boys did a day of golf, while the girls hung out at home. We had a really nice dinner on Saturday at Ormacheas. Maite enjoyed being held by her company and slept a lot. When she is tired her eyes start to roll around and she also smiles and smiles. It is so cute. We are still trying to work on the sleeping routine but one good night seems to bring one not so good night next. We are still learning.

Memorial Day

Well, I just have to share that last night was the best night Maite has had so far. I put her down at 10, she was up at 1 and ate. I put her down right when she was finished and she fell fast asleep. She woke up at 3:30, ate, then went back down till 6:00. I let her lay in her craddle till 6:30 because she was just talking to herself and making funny noises with her mouth. What a great night. I feel so much more awake today and ready for anything.

Andrew is now done with first cutting. He had a really long night and is now sleeping along with his daughter.
