BUSY
Sunday I had a friend call and say...hey let's go see Palin in Elko. I thought about it and said, 'Why not!' Well, Maite's first day with day care was on Tuesday and Andrew's first day back to work in town was Monday. Maite was with Aunt Mis on Mon and I left after school to head to Elko.
I waited an hour and half outside, then three hours inside stand up waiting for the hockey mom to show. She didn't talk till 11:30. About two hours into standing I felt a little sick and had to sit down where I was standing. It was amazing to see her and worth it all. While I was listening, the girl next to me passed out because she was so hot. The highlight of my week was shaking Palin's hand long with her husband, mom, dad, and brother. On the road again...we didn't get home till 3AM and I was up at 5:30 to get ready for Maite's first day at the sitter's. We made it in to town in time and she had a great day except for not getting a nap. But hey it was the first day. So, after school I picked her up, went to vote, dropped Maite off with Gma, went back to school for a conference, picked Andrew up from work, took him to vote, and then we went to RCIA till 8:00. No, I had not crashed yet and didn't ever feel tired. I D K Y!
Wednesday, Maite made it to daycare on time again. So proud of myself for the first week. She napped for an hour. After school I picked her up and dropped her off with Gma because I had conferences till after 5. Bummer that Maite was alread asleep when I got home.
Thursday, conferences again and Maite napped for 2 hours at daycare. I am so excited that she is adjusting well. Libby is good with her and we are really blessed. My conferences were over early so I got to pick her up at our regular time.
Friday, was a half day at school and since all my conferences we done I got to leave early. Woot Woot!
Andrew is working today, so it is some time with Maite. We are going into town to go to the Harvest festival and roll some pumpkins around.
Since Maite has been at daycare, her language development has just taken off. It is just so exciting to see how she is changing and developing. She is there with two other girls. One is not so good at sharing and she hits/bites. The other is four and loves Maite. Maite is really benefiting from being around her. She is so excited to go and is only two blocks from my school. I say again...we are soooo lucky!
I am praying for a calm and smooth week to come.

New Adventures to come.
We are growing from a family of three to a family of four come late March. We are expecting on the 29th of March. Yes, this was planned because I am a planner. I will have three quarters out of the way at school and be gone for the last remaining quarter. Perfect time for when spring fever kicks in for the students. Everyone is excited. Missy and I are expecting around the same time and I am looking forward to sharing our experiences together.
I have been trying to get my classroom back together before crazy August days start for us. From traveling to visitors...not much time to work. Darn it! Maite has been doing really well when we go to school. She sits in my library most of the time and goes through the books. She loves Elmo now and dances whenever she hears his music. She is such a blessing.

What nap?
After only a half hour nap yesterday we had to go for a walk to get out of the house. The heat was terrible but we walked about two miles. We made it to the hay stacks to enjoy some of the shade.
Maite likes to imitate Andrew while he is checking the hay. We drive out to the hay and Andrew flips the windrow of hay to see if it has cured enough underneath. He usually sticks some in his mouth to chew on and then flips it back over. Maite walks over next to him and touches the hay, stick a stem in her mouth, and then pats the windrow. They learn so fast!

First Chiro Appt.
Yesterday, Maite had her first chiropractic appt. and she did so good. They scanned her and she was actually not too bad. He did some minor adjustments and she had no tears. Then it was my turn. Whoooo doggy! She did not like him touching me. She started crying so bad. When he was adjusting my neck he had her lay on my chest and she just layed there really nice until I was done. I hope it is easier on her next time.

One Molar!
We have had a couple of tough nights lately. Finally, Maite cut one of her molars. She was up for an hour last night and then fell asleep while in my arms. We have a trip to Reno tomorrow and I hope that it is not too hot. Aunt Missy is going with us to help out. Oh, and that is the latest picture of her 'stink eye' look.

Summer fun!
Maite and I are really enjoying ourselves here at home for the summer. Andrew is really busy and the girls just hang out all day. I am getting used to this stay at home mom stuff and I know it will be really hard to get back to work in the fall. Maite loves her little pool and just playing in the dirt.
We are still doing the potty training thing. Maite loves her chair and I find her going into the bathroom, shutting the door, and when I go to open it I find her on the potty. It is so comical. She is getting in her first molars but is handling it really well.
Andrew just finished her swing set and Maite is loving it. She loves to swing in her swing and also swing on our laps. Andrew and Sebastian are enjoying swinging as much as she does.
I am still in the process of finding care for her this winter. I hate to even think of leaving her with someone other than family.

Walking and bossin' around!
Andrew and I left Maite for the weekend to celebrate our fifth anniversary. She stayed with Grandpa and Grandma Betes. I had a hard time not crying the whole day leading up to leaving her. I couldn't help it when we had to say goodbye. We called about 20 times over the weekend and we so glad to be back with her. She is now officially walking. She is staring to trust herself a lot more. I am so proud of her. She talks all the time, even though we are not sure what she is saying. She is choosing to walk instead of crawl. She is now a month into being binky-free. She is also sleeping through the night (8:30 - 5:30) We are planning the birthday party and waiting to hear the news of Baby Perez being born.

A New Year!
We are now back home from the vacation in WA. I think we back on routine but I am not sure. Maite is getting over being sick along with mom. She is pretty stuffed up, which does not help when she is trying to sleep. Maite is crawling like crazy and likes to climb, climb, and climb. She is walking behind her lion walker that she got for xmas and she is trying to stand up on her own. 'No, no' is something that she is really learning to understand and she listen very well. I hope that that will continue. She really doesn't have a favorite toy but still loves to be sang to. I hope this will continue also, even after she learns that mommy and daddy have terrible voices. She is saying momma, dada, boba, and other little babbles. The high pitch screeches are our favorites. Just kidding!
