Sunday I had a friend call and say...hey let's go see Palin in Elko. I thought about it and said, 'Why not!' Well, Maite's first day with day care was on Tuesday and Andrew's first day back to work in town was Monday. Maite was with Aunt Mis on Mon and I left after school to head to Elko.
I waited an hour and half outside, then three hours inside stand up waiting for the hockey mom to show. She didn't talk till 11:30. About two hours into standing I felt a little sick and had to sit down where I was standing. It was amazing to see her and worth it all. While I was listening, the girl next to me passed out because she was so hot. The highlight of my week was shaking Palin's hand long with her husband, mom, dad, and brother. On the road again...we didn't get home till 3AM and I was up at 5:30 to get ready for Maite's first day at the sitter's. We made it in to town in time and she had a great day except for not getting a nap. But hey it was the first day. So, after school I picked her up, went to vote, dropped Maite off with Gma, went back to school for a conference, picked Andrew up from work, took him to vote, and then we went to RCIA till 8:00. No, I had not crashed yet and didn't ever feel tired. I D K Y!
Wednesday, Maite made it to daycare on time again. So proud of myself for the first week. She napped for an hour. After school I picked her up and dropped her off with Gma because I had conferences till after 5. Bummer that Maite was alread asleep when I got home.
Thursday, conferences again and Maite napped for 2 hours at daycare. I am so excited that she is adjusting well. Libby is good with her and we are really blessed. My conferences were over early so I got to pick her up at our regular time.
Friday, was a half day at school and since all my conferences we done I got to leave early. Woot Woot!
Andrew is working today, so it is some time with Maite. We are going into town to go to the Harvest festival and roll some pumpkins around.
Since Maite has been at daycare, her language development has just taken off. It is just so exciting to see how she is changing and developing. She is there with two other girls. One is not so good at sharing and she hits/bites. The other is four and loves Maite. Maite is really benefiting from being around her. She is so excited to go and is only two blocks from my school. I say again...we are soooo lucky!
I am praying for a calm and smooth week to come.
